Riveiro is the first-ever Spanish coach to win the competition in its 46-year history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-600-wide size\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/editor.mediahack.co.za\/theoutlier\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2022\/12\/Group-4-600x567.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-83888\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Also a debutant in the South African professional football landscape, the Spaniard joined Pirates as its head coach ahead of the 2022\/23 season, from Finland\u2019s FC Inter Turku \u2013 where he held the same position \u2013 and he has somewhat managed to stabilise the ship after a tumultuous 2021\/22 season for the Soweto Giants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under his tutelage, Pirates\u2019 defensive patterns have paid off, with the team being the third most defensive team (jointly with TS Galaxy) in the league, having conceded only seven goals in 13 matches so far.
