The rest of the stores remain the same \u2013 Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Spar, Food Lover\u2019s Market and Woolworths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Items in our grocery basket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are nine items on our shopping list<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>700g loaf of Albany Superior Sliced White Bread, or store brand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2-litre store brand sunflower oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.5kg Iwisa maize meal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.5kg Selati white sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2-litre store brand milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2kg Tastic rice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.5kg Snowflake cake flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>175g bar of Dettol Herbal Soap<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>9-pack of 2-ply toilet paper, average price over all brands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If some brands aren\u2019t available, alternatives are used, but our aim is to keep the products as consistent as possible every month. For a breakdown of our methodology, click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/theoutlier.co.za\/outlier-grocery-basket\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">April&#8217;s basket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A few weeks ago Makro and Boxer Superstores approached us and asked to be added to our list, so this month we took them up on the offer. New entrant Makro was the only store with a basket total below the R400 mark.
