WhatsApp, which was bought by Meta 10 years ago, is the most popular messaging service in the world. It hosts about 2-billion users – a quarter of all the people on the planet – who send about 100-billion messages and 7-billion voice notes every single day.
Other messaging apps are a way behind: WeChat has 1.34-billion monthly active users, Facebook Messenger 1.01-billion, Telegram 900-million, Snapchat 800-million and TenCent’s QQ has 554-million.
