Cape Town International Airport is the most punctual airport in the world, according to a new study by AirHelp, a claims management company that helps travellers dealing with canceled or delayed flights.
Cape Town is in pole position of 239 airports across 69 countries for the highest percentage of on-time flights, based on flights taken between May 2023 and April 2024.
A flight is considered ‘on time’ if it arrives no later than 15 minutes after its published arrival time.
Overall, Cape Town was ranked second after Hamad International Airport in Qatar. Joburg’s OR Tambo International ranked 6th. Rankings also take customer feedback and the quality of food and shopping options into account.
