On-demand delivery service Checkers Sixty60 is continuing its strong performance since it was launched in November 2019, with Shoprite Holdings reporting that sales have grown by 58% in the past financial year.
Supermarkets South Africa, the group’s core business, grew sales by 12.3% in the 12 months to end-June 2024, contributing 81% to group sales.
Sixty60 sales growth is slowing, however. It fell by 21 percentage points year-on-year. Last year, sales on the platform were up 81% compared with the same period in 2022. Growth in 2022 was 150%.
